Most of our clients ask us to perform some form of maintenance in order to ensure maximum performance and aesthetic results of their landscape lighting systems.

Why maintenance?  Like any machine in hostile outdoor conditions, your lighting system needs some level of regular maintenance.  Our technician’s maintenance visits can include the following tasks:

• Cleaning and straightening of fixtures
• Re-pointing of fixtures to ensure optimal lighting effects
• Checking sockets and seals
• Replacing lamps (bulbs), as necessary
• Resetting of timers and checking circuit breakers
• Inspection of tree installations to ensure that the trees are protected

Options:

1. Fixed-price Agreement  We perform a total re-lamping (change all bulbs) and offer a full year lamp warrantee.  This includes an initial major overhaul, full lubrication of sockets and seals, the full relamping, and three subsequent visits quarterly throughout the year.  With this option you will know exactly what to expect in terms of maintenance costs.
2. Time and Materials Agreement  With this option, once every two, three, four, or six months service technicians will visit your property to do the following:  check and clean all fixtures, perform tree inspection, and change lamps as needed.  We would invoice for the technician(s) time plus any materials needed to keep your system operating and looking like new.
3. On-call Arrangement  You can call or e-mail us at any time and a service team member will promptly visit your property and invoice you for any work performed and materials provided.

Please note that any of these arrangements may be subject to additional costs, usually related to tree-mounted fixture repair or damage to fixtures and/or wire.

The option that is best for you depends on what you and your property’s specific needs are.  If you have a system that is more than two (2) years old you may wish to consider the fixed-price agreement with the total relamping.  If your system is greater than three (3) years old you should definitely consider having us relamp your tree-mounted fixtures and while there, reattach the wire and junction boxes in the tree.

Finally, if you wish to change your own lamps, you can buy premium brand bulbs direct from Outdoor Illumination—we will deliver them to your door!  Please note that all bulbs are not the same.  We know the exact beam spreads and we sell lamps that are specifically designed to survive harsh outdoor conditions.  As bulbs are not the only consideration and fixtures need maintenance as well, you may wish to have us visit at least once a year to maintain your system.
